Kaitlyn Mitcham
Kaitlyn was raised in Everett, Washington. In 2014, she graduated from the University of Great Falls (now University of Providence) summa cum laude. During her time at the University of Great Falls, she played guard for the Women’s Basketball team. She also interned as a file clerk at Smith Oblander, which ultimately led her to law school.
Kaitlyn earned her Juris Doctor from the University of Montana School of Law in 2017. During law school, she interned with a civil litigation firm and the local County Attorney’s Office, and was an active member of the Montana Trial Lawyers Association Student Chapter. Following graduation, she was pleased to return to Smith Oblander & Meade, this time as an associate attorney.
Kaitlyn’s practice focuses primarily on civil litigation, with an emphasis on construction-related disputes, personal injury matters, and insurance-related claims. She also represents clients in estate planning and probate matters.
Kaitlyn is actively involved in the Great Falls community and dedicates substantial time to providing pro bono legal services through the Cascade County Law Clinic. She previously served on the boards of the Paris Gibson Square Museum of Art (2018–2021) and Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Montana (2020–2025) and served as Secretary of the Cascade County Bar Association from 2017–2021.
Outside the office, Kaitlyn enjoys spending time with her husband, their three sons, and their dog.
